Senior PLC Engineer

What does your day look like?

You come in, first have a cup of coffee and catch up with your colleagues. The Sales department sounded champagne last week, a new machine has been sold. It is up to you to translate the customer's wishes into concrete solutions. If Sr. PLC Engineer you realize the final solution for the customer from the drawing table. First of all, you start by create an effective functional specification document. When organizing and planning you think three steps ahead and you look beyond your own work.

After the joint lunch you will be called by the Electrical Engineer. He asks you for advice. You are an experienced PLC Engineer who is able to take the lead in a project, who can coach younger engineers. By asking the right questions, you understand exactly what he needs and you come to the right solution together. Additionally, one of your objectives is to implement a structured approach to further develop our software in a modular fashion.

At the end of the day you will have contact with the Project Manager about further modernization and automation of existing solutions. A great challenge, where you can work creatively!

What are you bringing?

  • Completed HBO education
  • Can develop and validate documentation (URS, FDS, SDS, TDS)
  • Capable of leading project processes and guiding colleagues in these
  • Gets enthusiastic about modular design and uniformity
  • Understands the automation pyramid (layering in the software)
  • Masters international control standards (ISA88, Pack-ML)
  • Proficient in Object Oriented Programming and PLC-open control blocks
  • Has an affinity for or possesses safety certifications (TUV: Certified Machinery Safety Expert)
  • Experienced with B&R PLCs, VFDs, Motion, Safety, and Bus systems (preferred)
  • Knowledgeable in Mitsubishi PLCs and ABB Robot communication (preferred)
  • Familiar with communication protocols like OPC-UA, Ethernet-IP, Modbus TCP
  • You live in the Netherlands
