KRANENDONK announces a strengthened collaboration with JGC Corporation through the implementation of a fully automated Robotic Pipe Shop, enabling high-quality and consistent pipe spool fabrication through advanced ZEROGAP beveling and robotic welding technology.
The cooperation between KRANENDONK and JGC began in 2018, when both companies explored automation opportunities for spool fabrication. This led to the implementation of an automated Robotic Pipe Shop integrating ZEROGAP beveling technology and robotic welding. The system delivers predictable output and reproducible welding quality, reducing dependence on scarce skilled welders. By stabilizing production capacity and improving throughput predictability, the solution helps address common resource challenges faced in large-scale fabrication projects.
Building on this foundation, KRANENDONK and JGC are currently implementing an expanded, fully integrated automated pipe shop as part of JGC’s long-term fabrication strategy. This next phase brings together advanced cutting, beveling, welding and material-handling automation to further strengthen output consistency and production reliability across demanding industrial projects.
