The Apollo Spool Milling Station is an automated component milling station designed to prepare pipes, elbows, and tees with high-precision bevels, ready for fit-up and welding. With automatic tool change and ZeroGap beveling, it handles a wide range of pipe sizes and wall thicknesses. Apollo delivers short cycle times, minimal manual grinding, and consistent results for spool fabrication projects.

All you need to know

The Apollo Spool Milling Station delivers high-performance beveling with practical features that streamline spool fabrication and increase efficiency.
Designed for scalability, it works as a standalone solution and as part of a fully integrated pipe shop. You can combine multiple stations, including extra beveling or welding units, to build a complete, automated production line for both carbon and stainless steel.

Apollo comes in different configurations with 1, 2, or 3 work zones, tailored to pipe spools or fittings. Looking for maximum flexibility? Conventional beveling tools can also be added as an optional feature.

Optimized for throughput

Apollo is designed for uninterrupted operation. With multiple workstations, operators can safely perform setup tasks while another cell is actively milling. This parallel workflow minimizes idle time and keeps production flowing, even with high spool variety.

Automatic tool change

Switching between bevel types or diameters? Apollo handles it automatically. The built-in tool changer selects the right cutter tool for each operation. To ensure perfect alignment despite pipe ovality, Apollo uses a measuring probe to detect the exact center from the inside of the pipe — allowing it to compensate for dimensional deviations automatically.

Patented ZEROGAP beveling

With ZEROGAP bevel joint, no alignment work is required during fit-up and tack-weld as compared to conventional bevel joint. Thus, fit-up and tack-weld work are readily carried out and be completed instantly.

Integrated with PSWP

The Pipe Spool Work Preparation (PSWP) software intelligently breaks down the customer’s piping network into manageable 2D pipe spools. It automatically detects weld joints and generates the corresponding beveling and welding programs.
